A workshop by noiserr & Mattin
In this workshop, we will try to actively understand how the logic of the loop works by generating a monstrous and perverted collective composition. Through collage techniques such as repetition, accumulation, mutation, layering, and contrast, we will dive into the making of loops with tape cassettes and digital recordings.
Martina Raponi / noiserr is an Italian writer and artist based in Amsterdam, researching noise and complexity. In parallel, she co-founded Noiserr, an interdisciplinary research group focused on sound, and Ansible Institute, a transitory speculative fiction laboratory. She is an art theory tutor at the Willem de Kooning Academy and is currently working on her second book, "UNHEARD", in collaboration with the Institute of Network Cultures, Amsterdam.Mattin is an artist, musician, and theorist working conceptually with noise and improvisation. Through his practice and writing, he explores performative forms of estrangement as a way to deal with structural alienation. Mattin has exhibited and toured worldwide. Along with Anthony Iles, he edited the book Noise & Capitalism and is currently in the final stages of editing the volume Abolishing Capitalist Totality: What is To Be Done Under Real Subsumption? THE WORKSHOPS ARE SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE INTERESTED, NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY, AND THE AIM IS TO CREATE A SPACE FOR CREATION IN A COLLABORATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT.
